Kids Of All Ages Will Enjoy These Halloween Games

Article by Sean McIvor

Trick or treating is just one of the activities you can do for Halloween. If you are throwing a party instead, you should plan a few games so everyone can have some fun. Here are some fun ideas for Halloween games for kids of all ages that will liven up your party.

Pass the Pumpkin. This game is great fun and all you need are three pumpkins and some people. Just group up the players into groups of pretty even ability levels, or make it kids against the adults or boys against the girls if you like. Each group starts with a pumpkin and the first player passes it to another in the group. Then that person passes it on to someone else, and so on. The winning team is the team that does not drop the pumpkin. Ohhh…did I forget to mention, you should put some Crisco on the pumpkins first? Howling good fun! This is an outside game of course!

Wrap the Mummy. The objective here is to see who can wrap the mummy the fastest. Split everyone into pairs, with one person being the mummy and the other person the wrapper. Players will use toilet paper to wrap the mummy. Whoever is first at completely wrapping up their mummy, with no skin or clothing showing, wins a prize. You might want to arrange players by size to be fair.

Witches Broom Dancing. This is a variation on follow-the-leader, and all you need is a broom. Put all players in a circle. The first person takes the witch’s broom and dances around the circle with it. Then, she hands it to whatever player she chooses, and that person must imitate her dance exactly. If she doesn’t she sits down and another person takes a turn. The last player standing wins.

Why not be creative and think up some variations for these games that suit your guest list. A good party should have about 4 or 5 games lined up that are suitable for all ages so everyone will be able to participate instead of just watching from the sidelines.

For sweets, have pudding cups on hand. Spread cool Whip on and have some black decorating gel so everyone can draw their own ghost faces on them.

Witch hat cookies: Take a package of Fudge Stripe cookies, turn them upside down, and glue unwrapped Hershey’s kisses on them with orange icing. They look like perfect witch hats.

Caramel apples of course!

Dirt with worms: Crumble a bunch of oreos and mix them up with pudding. When well mixed, bury gummy worms in them.

But you need savory things too, because too much sugar will make everyone sick. Chips and salsa or onion dip are always good.

Shrimp spread:
take 1 block of cream cheese on a plate. Cover with 1 tin tiny canned shrimp. Cover with cocktail sauce. Sprinkle with dill and lemon juice. Serve with Ritz crackers.

Antipasto salad:
In a bowl mix 1 package cherry tomatoes, halves; 1 can quartered artichoke hearts; 1/2 jar kalamata olives; 1 package mushrooms, washed & halved; thinly sliced shallot or red onion; snipped parsely. Dress with garlic salt and basalmic vinegar.

Antipasto meat salad:
In a bowl: 1 cup cubed hard salami, 1 cup pepperoni, slices cut in half; 1 cup cubed mozzerella cheese; 1/2 jar kalamata olives. dress with lemon juice, olive oil, and fennel seeds. Serve with toothpicks.

Dressing up in incredible costumes isn't just for kids, even adults and teens can get in on all the enjoyment as well. Simply check out our online costume store and discover a getup that you really like and you're all ready to go to your costume party and have a great time.

I bought this on a whim in a local Halloween store. It is a very clever idea, but it has some falls.

First, bear in mind that your door surely has a doorknob, and it will prevent the poster to hang straight, creating bumps and wrinkles. Of course, the doorknob is not usable from the outside while the poster hangs.

Second, if your door is even slightly narrower than the poster, you will have to bend the image over the sides, covering the place where the latch closes with the door frame – or if you choose to do it only over the back part, the poster will not be centered.

This is better to hang on an empty wall, creating the illusion of a bathroom door – maybe at the end of a corridor.

In spite of this, the image is nice and not blurry at all. But, the material in which is printed in thin plastic. Treat with care and keep away of cats!
